The GeChic On-Lap 1302 is one of those gadgets that looks like it would be annoying and cool at the same time. It would be cool if you really need a larger second screen. Tablet or notebook to be able to get one, but it would be annoying having to deal with a 13.3-inch screen on the go. The screen needs cables and adapters to connect to your smartphone or other device.
For instance, it can connect to your iPhone if you have the Apple Digital AV Adapter and it can go to your Android device using MHL to HDMI adapter. Apparently, the external monitor also needs power and doesn’t have an internal battery so it’s not exactly portable. The screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768.
It will go on sale next month for $199 online and in stores such as Newegg. The question in my mind is if this display a usable or not. If you’re going to have to use that a desk near the outlet the usability is questionable to me. Still, for people that like working from a tablet or smartphone on the go this may be just the thing.
