Sushmita Sen is herself-celebrating her uniqueness every day of her life. This sense of self, has kept her on top of things, allowed her to reinvent herself and bounce back from setbacks always. It is with this self belief that she went on to win the Miss India Pageant in 1994, when 25 other contestants withdrew because Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was participating. The same year, she went on to win the Miss Universe title, being the first Indian in the 43-year-old history of the pageant to do so.
